Middle Township High School (MTHS) students will again be able to scan QR codes via mobile devices, allowing college representatives to follow up with college information directly to personal emails.
Cape May Court House, NJ – More than 50 colleges, universities, trade schools and military representatives will take part in Middle Township High School’s (MTHS) 11th annual College Fair on March 14 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
For the second year, MTHS will utilize resources from StriveFair.com that allow students to interact with representatives through their mobile devices, making follow-ups more efficient. The students will scan QR codes to have information sent directly to their personal emails. Last year, over 150 students attended.
“Strive Fair was such a great addition to the fair last year, and we’re excited to bring it back,” said Joelle Tenaglia, Middle Township School District Director of Guidance. “We saw the success the QR code had in helping students stay engaged with the representatives after the fair had already ended. Most students always have their phones on them. Why not use this to our advantage? The fair was already successful prior, growing each year. This only lends to that growth.”
United States military branches in attendance will include the Navy, Air Force, Army, Army National Guard, Coast Guard and Marines.
“We put on multiple college and career readiness events throughout the year, but this is always the biggest,” said Sharon Rementer, MTHS Principal. “We have colleges and university representatives come from all over the East Coast to talk with our students, ensuring that they know what opportunities are out there. As educational leaders, our job is to give them all the tools to succeed. This is most definitely one of them.”
In addition to the fair, MTHS will host keynote speaker John Iacovelli from Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (HESAA) for a presentation to parents and students from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Media Center.
Students are encouraged to register prior to the event at StriveFair.com. For more information on Middle Township School District and its college and career opportunities, go to highschool.middletownshippublicschools.org, open the Guidance dropdown and click Guidance Office.
