Cape May Court House, NJ – Representatives from Stockton University, Rowan University, Fisk University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore and Atlantic Cape Community College will participate in a college information session to give Middle Township High School (MTHS) students the opportunity to receive information on the college application process and more. The information session will allow all MTHS students and their parents to ask questions in a more intimate setting.

The College Application Process/Information Meeting will take place on Jan. 16 at the Martin Luther King Center in Whitesboro from 6 – 7:30 p.m. Food will also be served.

The event will focus on the college application process, earning college credits in high school, the Early College Program at MTHS, scholarship information such as the Garden State Guarantee Scholarship, grants like the Community College Opportunity Grant, and the NJSTARS Program. There will also be information on timelines starting with freshman year on what students can do each year moving forward to prepare for the college application season.

“I’m excited to provide this opportunity to our students,” said MTHS Principal Dr. Sharon Rementer. “Rather than Googling, or searching for information online to answer their questions, we’re having representatives and experts come right to them – giving more of a one-on-one experience. We know that this process can be stressful for a lot of students, so our job is to make sure all opportunities are easily accessible, giving them the best chance at making the right decisions for their futures.”

MTHS hosts various events throughout the year, helping students decide on future endeavors such as college, trade or military opportunities. Last year, over 150 students and more than 50 colleges, universities, trade schools and military representatives attended Middle Township High School’s (MTHS) 10th annual College Fair on March 15, 2023. MTHS made the event even more interactive and effective with the use of QR codes provided through StriveFair.com. Students were able to scan codes via mobile devices which then allowed representatives to follow up with college information sent directly to their personal emails.

“It’s important for us to stay as involved as we are in helping our students with these big choices they’ll need to make – directly affecting their lives after their time at Middle,” said MTHS Director of Guidance Joelle Tenaglia. “We have such bright and promising students come out of our schools; it’s so important for us to help give them every opportunity to excel in their future endeavors.”

This event is presented by the MTHS Guidance Department. A bilingual translator will be available.
