Cape May Court House, NJ – Students were grateful to share a delicious turkey dinner together at Middle Township Elementary #2 School’s first Thanksgiving Feast on Nov.22. Staff, administration, and Board of Education members also attended the feast, which the school plans to host annually.

Plates were filled with hot turkey, gravy, corn, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and dessert as students and guests sat down in the cafeteria and enjoyed cheerful conversations as much as the meal. The feast was served during three seatings, 11 a.m., 11:50 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., and was sponsored by student activity funds.

The school’s cafeteria employees prepared the fall dishes, while volunteers plated and served the food. Volunteers included Principal Carrie Sinone, Vice Principal Vincent Tridente, the School Resource Officer Alyssa Jones, Security Officer Jamie Loftus, custodian Barb Kardos, and multiple Middle Township High School students. Sinone spearheaded the Thanksgiving Feast.

“My love language is food,” said Sinone. “I want to share this joy with our students and district to show our gratitude and appreciation for them and well as teach our students how to show gratitude in their own homes this holiday season.”

“We are so impressed by the effort put forth by the team at Elementary #2 to make this lunch so spectacular for our students and staff,” said MTPS Superintendent David Salvo. “It’s events like these that remind us of the true spirit of the holiday season – coming together as a community to share kindness, generosity, and appreciation. It was great to see the students express their gratitude for the experience.”
